Our room was tidy and nicely decorated with a private garden. the breakfast was rich and great with juice and perfectly cooked soft-boiled eggs. - the property's location was exceptionally nice, surrounded by two Japanese gardens.

there were air conditioning, a work desk, and a seating area in the room, appreciated that. the breakfast was varied and great, with a wide range of meals.

The japanese-style room we stayed in was amazing with AC and privat garden plus a very nice view. Having fresh towels and slippers was a bonus. The property's location was nice, close to transport into the city.

Amazing stay at Guesthouse Kyoto Compass. Marvellous location next to Kyoto Station and many bus stops. - Most attractions like Kinkaku-ji and Kyoto are easily accessible. - Quiet neighborhood. - Cozy rooms tastefully decorated with a private garden. - Very nice view. - Superb air conditioning.

Had a very special stay, the hotel is well-kept and wonderful.

location: the hotel was near bamboo forest and public transport, and good transport links. the stuff that checked us in was amazingly friendly.

The employees are knowledgeable and wonderfully friendly. The hotel has huge and big size rooms with a very nice view as well as privat garden. It takes 15 mins by foot to the bus stop. A comfortable location, I would love to return.

The breakfast here includes plenty of tasty food options, the location is convenient, close to popular tourist spots, and there are local eateries and shops in the vicinity, while the staff is friendly and well-informed.

The breakfast was varied and there were plenty of goodies to enjoy. the bed was very comfy, the bathroom was clean, and the room had central heating. - It was nice to have a seating area and a writing table in the room.

Absolutely beautiful historic Japanese house with exquisite decor. Spacious and comfy bedroom overlooking a lovely courtyard garden. Charming and artistic hosts who put their heart and soul into making it a great experience. Great advice on off the beaten track activities. Top-notch bathroom facilities.

Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes.

The rooms here are spacious and come with electric blankets to keep you warm 🔌. the bed is super comfy, and they even provide clean towels and slippers in the bathroom.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. the homemade tea and snacks upon arrival were a lovely touch. the beds in the shared rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were always clean and available. the guesthouse is conveniently located near bus stops, making it easy to get around the city. being able to rent a bike for the day at a reasonable price was a great way to explore Kyoto.

Everything was perfect and exceeded my expectations. the only downside was that I couldn't stay longer to enjoy more of the amazing hospitality and explore the beautiful city of Kyoto.

I absolutely loved the cozy and traditional Japanese decor of the Guesthouse Kyoto Compass. It made me feel like I was staying in a traditional Japanese home, which was a delightful experience. The general areas of the guesthouse were also very well-maintained and clean, making it easy for a senior like me to navigate around. Additionally, the accessibility of the guesthouse for senior people was excellent. The staff was always ready to assist and ensure I had a comfortable stay. The bunk beds had reading lights and curtains for privacy, which was thoughtful and convenient for seniors like me.

If I had to ask for one improvement for a better vacation for senior people, it would be helpful if the children working there could provide more assistance with luggage handling.

The rooms here are tastefully decorated, and there is a private garden to enjoy, along with a budget-friendly restaurant serving plenty of delicious food.

Great location, right next to excellent dining options. There's a really good restaurant called Tokuchan nearby 🍜.
